CARBOCHEMISTRY
The branch of chemistry known as carbochemistry investigates how coal is converted into usable goods and raw materials. Processes including carbonization and coking, as well as gasification and liquefaction, are utilised in carbochemistry as degasification techniques. Carbochemistry was first studied in the 16th century. At that time, smelting iron ores required a significant amount of charcoal.
